WELCOME TO THE SCARBOROUGH PHILHARMONIC ORCHESTRA’S 2019/2020 40th ANNIVERSARY CONCERT SEASON!

The Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra (SPO) has been dedicated to enriching the musical life of the Greater Scarborough area since 1980.  We present high-quality musical performances that offer a friendly, affordable, enriching, and convenient live-entertainment experience.

The six concerts of the 2019/2020 season will feature great romantic music by Beethoven, Brahms, Dvorak, Mendelssohn, and Tchaikovsky, as well as lively Canadian works and a thrilling film-music concert.

Soloists include our new Artist-in-Residence, Joyce Lai, violin; internationally-renowned Máté Szűcs, viola; one of Canada’s most noted emerging artists, and Jacelyn Holmes, vocalist. Soloists for our co-production with the Toronto Choral Society will be announced.

We also look forward to solo work from New Generation Artists Vanessa Yu, piano; Tiffany Yeung, violin; and Eena Yoon, cello. The SPO is dedicated to educational outreach, youth engagement, and mentoring of New Generation Artists.

Our concerts are known for their inviting, friendly, and relaxed atmosphere.
