Featuring Strings of the Scarborough Philharmonic Orchestra (Ronald Royer, Conductor | Corey Gemmell, solo violin), Sistema Toronto String Ensemble (Andres Tucci Clarke, Conductor), and University of Toronto Scarborough Campus String Ensemble | Sir Oliver Mowat C.I. String Ensemble (Tony Leong, Conductor).

This performance features an entertaining and diverse collection of music for string orchestra and includes musicians from four Scarborough ensembles, including: Edward Elgar’s Serenade in E minor, Op. 20, Jean Sibelius’ Humoresque in D major, Op. 87, No. 2 (for solo violin and strings), Joseph Bologne, Chevalier de Saint-George’s String Quartet in G minor, Op. 1, No. 3 (arranged for string orchestra), Peter Ashbourne’s Jamaica Folk, Shreya Jha’s Farmyard Adventure, Cris Derksen’s Prairie Promise, Florence Price’s Symphony No. 1, 3rd Movement, and Soon Hee Newbold’s Invictus (featuring Sitema student performers)!
